Nutrition Education
Along side our collaborative partner Nuts About Health Inc., we provide nutritional education and fresh produce to students and they're teachers. During our :Garden Education" workshops we supply the students with fresh produce from Nappesoul's Indoor Greenhouse Project©️. We teach them about the many health benefits when you incorporate more fruits, vegetables, and herbs into your meals. The outcome at the end of our workshops is that every child was able to identify plants we brought in like basil, kale, cucumber, tomatoes, blueberries and strawberries. They have the opportunity to prepare an organic breakfast or organic salad with The Salad Lady (Dawn Slade) and The Garden Whisperer (Gregory Smith).
Adventures of the Salad Lady & Garden Whisperer
"The Adventures of the Salad Lady and Garden Whisper" is an interactive puppet show designed to teach young children the importance of healthy eating and living. This puppet show is about The Salad Lady (Dawn Slade), on a journey to find some fresh salad ingredients in a city polluted with fast food and GMO processed foods. She then meets the Garden Whisperer (Gregory Smith) and her search for fresh organic salad ingredients is fulfilled as if she had stumbled into an outside produce isle. The puppets interact with the audience, getting them involved in the puppet show naming produce. Every child gets a chance to yell out the fruits, vegetables and herbs they see during the show. Afterwards the children get to create their very own produce puppet and enjoy a salad they also help make.
